Step 8:

Now we are gonna create shadow for the text. To do this,  please select smart object duplicate it.  Put it below our main text, but over the background. Please remove all layer styles as well as smart sharpen from from this copy of smart object. Change Layer Blending Mode to Multiply 25%. Then shift it 15px to the right and 15 px to the bottom. Then go to Filters ->Blur -> Motion Blur and apply this:

Here is the preview:

retrotext8b

Step 9:

We're almost done, in this last step we're gonna take care of some color and curve corrections, bu before we start please have a look at Layers Panel to make sure we're on the same page.

retrotext9a

Please create new solid fill layer above all the layers. Use fff600 as a color. Change Blending Mode to Soft Light and set it to 20%.  Then create another solid fill layer above. Color 2f00fc, set Blending Mode to Exclusion, 30%. Now go to Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> Curves and set it like on picture below:

retrotext9b

Please set this new Curves layer Blending Mode to Soft Light.

Then go to Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> Treshold.  Set treshold at 94, Blending Mode to Color Dodge and 5% Opacity.

retrotext9c

Then go to Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> Black and White.  Set everything like on the picture below:
